Memory will clock down to run at optimal speeds depending on processor model and number of modules installed. 2400MHz memory requires certain Xeon E5-2600 v4 processor models. This system supports Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules. Modules of different memory types CANNOT be mixed within the same system. If only one processor is installed, only 8 DIMM sockets can be populated. With two processors, all 16 DIMM sockets can be populated.
