Excellent service and technical advice. I discussed the proposed upgrade with Keith, and followed his recommendations with the purchase and installation.
The order arrived 3 days ahead of the ETA, and the installation was what I would rate as a "non event" which took me a total time of less than 10 minutes.

I put this ssd into a 2011 Macbook Pro (8,2), with a 16GB RAM upgrade. It has given the laptop a new lease of life. An excellent investment and the helpful booklet included with the parts gave me some useful tips on how to make a smooth transferral of data, MacOS etc. Thanks.

Fast and silent, I quite appreciate being able to put my hand on the cooling fins to see if it's warm. Coming from older tech, it's all shockingly fast, I'm using this for all of my storage, Lightroom catalogue etc on my new Mac Mini M4 pro. It looks pretty sweet next to the mini. I chose the empty drive and added my own 4TB drive, nothing too high end just a Crucial P3+, and a rough test gave me just over 3000MB/s writes and around 2500MB/s reads, with the supplied cable. For me that's shockingly fast, however a better SSD should realise the max potential of this enclosure. The computer shop was pretty impressed with the specs when they sold me the SSD and looked it up. Upgradable were awesome to deal with, had a great conversation on when I called about the purchase, then bought online later.

new 1tb ssd and 8gb ram has sped up the 7yr old all in one. night and day different. was taking up to 10mins to boot up and log in and ages to load chrome. now its alot faster

In summary you will need this kit to upgrade the SATA ssd hard drive and it work flawlessly.

When you get the kit you use the screwdriver to undo the two screws at the end of the black box. Then you undo the 2 screws and insert your new SATA SSD hard drive in there, tighten the 2 screws to hold the SSD card then insert back into box and insert the little black cover and tighten those two screws. All of this should be done with the supplied black phillips head screwdriver. Follow the supplied paper instructions exactly by downloading the free trial software and follow instructions of the screen captures of the software on paper instructions. It took 17 minutes to download about 90GB of data from my old SSD.
