The Satellite A660 uses both DDR3-1066 and DDR3-1333 memory, models that come with DDR3-1066 are able to use the DDR3-1333 memory which is backwards compatible. It is a requirement for your Satellite A660 to be running a minimum of BIOS version 1.90 prior to upgrading to the 8GB maximum.
