Mixing RDIMM and UDIMM is not supported. Use of 8GB Single-Rank (1Rx4) and 16GB Dual-Rank (2Rx4) RDIMM requires Opteron 6200 series processors. Opteron 6100 series processors support 16GB Quad-Rank (4Rx4) RDIMM. No more than two ECC UDIMMs may be installed per channel. It is recommended to install UDIMMs in first and third banks, leaving second bank (sockets 2, 5, 8, and 11) open. Maximum 512GB memory is achieved by installing 8 x 32GB Quad-Rank and 16 x 16GB Dual-Rank RDIMMs in a two-processor system.
