Hit a time wasting snag when 'Windows Defender' was a bit tricky to turn off completely - it encrypted the clone!.. But re-cloning worked a treat (Thanks Keith).
This upgrade does just what it says on the box - providing a massive performance boost to an old laptop.

The website clearly shows the options available for your version of iMac and clearly shows how to install the upgrade. Took me 5 minutes and, after install and startup, the improvement in performance was obvious. Why did I let myself suffer for so long?

followed the instructions to clone my full SSD onto a bigger SSD and normal service has been restored to operating system which can now update itself. Thanks.

Very easy to install memory. Took about 5 minutes with one screwdriver. I installed two drives including removing a 3.5" sata from another enclosure.
