Configuration flexibility is yours when you replace your Mac mini or iMac's internal SuperDrive with the OWC Data Doubler. This custom engineered blue anodized aluminum bracket with adapter cable comes ready to mount any 9.5mm tall 2.5" SATA HDD or SSD.

OWC Data Doubler makes it easy to custom design how you want your internal storage to perform. Installed drives are recognized like any other high speed SATA storage device and can be setup and partitioned using the Apple Disk Utility Program.

Just a few of the configuration options you can enjoy with Data Doubler:
• Creating an individual volume with its own desktop icon.
• Combining a new drive with the existing internal drive for one larger volume (SPAN).
• Combining a new matching drive with existing internal for high-performance RAID-0 Stripe volume.
• Configuring a new drive as a Time Machine backup drive.
• Formatting one drive for the Mac OS and the other dedicated for Windows.

Bootcamp note: As Windows can only be installed from an internal drive, please note that you will have to put your optical drive back inside your Mac to do a clean install of Windows. Alternatively you can use software like Winclone to copy an existing partition and reinstall it at will.

Our definition of lifetime warranty is: If the product ceases to work at anytime, you can return it for a replacement. Simple. No if's, no but's. Our RAM will out last your computer. We have had the same warranty since year 2000. It has never varied or been modified. Our competitors have played catch up and matched our warranty but they can never match our service. We don't provide a lifetime warranty as a gimmick, it is a statement on the values of our company, our goal of exceptional customer service and the quality of the products we supply.

SSD warranty (3 to 5 year )
Unlike RAM, an SSD has limited write cycles, so it will eventually wear out. However, it will take 10 years or more to wear out an SSD! Warranty varies from 3 to 5 years, please check the SSDs description. Our faulty SSD return policy is to make it as simple as possible for the customer. We will replace faulty drives as soon as they are returned.

Our money back guarantee is about your assurance that our upgrades will make a difference. If is not about how many days, it is about customer service and trust. We have had the same guarantees for 20+ years because they are sustainable. We have had to make some modifications. We now reserve the right to charge a 5% restocking fee. This is because the credit card processing fee is non refundeable to us, which means the bank keeps their charges. A refund costs us 5%.
