Replace your optical drive with a second drive or Solid State Drive (SSD) for 2008 to Mid 2012 Macbook, Macbook Pro

Configuration flexibility is yours when you replace your MacBook or MacBook Pro's internal SuperDrive with the OWC Data Doubler. This custom engineered blue anodized aluminum bracket with attached PCB circuit board comes ready to mount any 9.5mm tall 2.5-inch SATA hard disk drive and even Solid State Drives. Then, just install the entire assembly into a MacBook or MacBook Pro 5.25-inch optical drive bay. OWC Data Doubler makes it easy to custom design how you want your internal storage to perform. Installed drives are recognized like any other high speed SATA storage device and can be setup and partitioned using the Apple Disk Utility Program.

Our most popular upgrade using the Datadoubler is to replace the Macbook hard drive with a SSD and then use the datadoubler to reuse the old hard drive as a backup or storage device.

Please note the datadoubler is bracket only. Does not ship with the screwdriver set or an HDD or SSD. All these are sold separately.

Our definition of lifetime warranty is: If the product ceases to work at anytime, you can return it for a replacement. Simple. No if's, no but's. Our RAM will out last your computer. We have had the same warranty since year 2000. It has never varied or been modified. Our competitors have played catch up and matched our warranty but they can never match our service. We don't provide a lifetime warranty as a gimmick, it is a statement on the values of our company, our goal of exceptional customer service and the quality of the products we supply.

SSD warranty (3 to 5 year )
Unlike RAM, an SSD has limited write cycles, so it will eventually wear out. However, it will take 10 years or more to wear out an SSD! Warranty varies from 3 to 5 years, please check the SSDs description. Our faulty SSD return policy is to make it as simple as possible for the customer. We will replace faulty drives as soon as they are returned.

Our money back guarantee is about your assurance that our upgrades will make a difference. If is not about how many days, it is about customer service and trust. We have had the same guarantees for 20+ years because they are sustainable. We have had to make some modifications. We now reserve the right to charge a 5% restocking fee. This is because the credit card processing fee is non refundeable to us, which means the bank keeps their charges. A refund costs us 5%.
