Faster memory will clock down to run at optimal speed depending on processor model installed. There are 20 DIMM sockets, however 4 sockets (P1-DIMMC2/P1-DIMMG2/P2-DIMMC2/P2-DIMMG2) can ONLY be used for Intel Optane PMem. Registered RDIMM and Load Reduced LRDIMM memory modules CANNOT be mixed within the same system. Mixing x4 and x8 modules is allowed, however not within the same bank.
