This is an excellent cloning solution for your mSATA SSD. 

This case is an external enclosure that uses an mSATA SSD. The added benefit is your original mSATA SSD can be used later in this case as an external drive.

This case does not come with an SSD, they are sold separately. If you are using with a Crucial mSATA SSD the Acronis cloning software is included. If you are using a different brand of SSD we recommend the free edition of Macrium to clone the SSD.

Clone procedure is: put new mSATA SSD into this external case. Plug the USB-A end of the cable into computer. You can initialise the new SSD, but all clone software will do this as part of the clone. Run clone software and clone onto new SSD. After clone has finished, shut down computer and install new SSD. Restart and enjoy. The original mSATA SSD can be repurposed in the external case.

SSD warranty (3 to 5 year )
Unlike RAM, an SSD has limited write cycles, so it will eventually wear out. However, it will take 10 years or more to wear out an SSD! Warranty varies from 3 to 5 years, please check the SSDs description. Our faulty SSD return policy is to make it as simple as possible for the customer. We will replace faulty drives as soon as they are returned.

Worked exactly as advertised.

In summary you will need this kit to upgrade the SATA ssd hard drive and it work flawlessly.

When you get the kit you use the screwdriver to undo the two screws at the end of the black box. Then you undo the 2 screws and insert your new SATA SSD hard drive in there, tighten the 2 screws to hold the SSD card then insert back into box and insert the little black cover and tighten those two screws. All of this should be done with the supplied black phillips head screwdriver. Follow the supplied paper instructions exactly by downloading the free trial software and follow instructions of the screen captures of the software on paper instructions. It took 17 minutes to download about 90GB of data from my old SSD.
