Five year SSD warranty (3 year OWC Aura)
Unlike RAM, an SSD has limited write cycles, so it will eventually wear out. The Crucial MX500 is rated to last 360TB of write cycles. You would have to write 200GB every day for five years to wear it out! The new warranty for the MX500 SSD is five years. Our faulty SSD return policy is to make it as simple as possible for the customer. We will replace faulty drives as soon as they are returned. Please note older Crucial drives have a 3 year warranty and some OWC Aura SSD drives we sell have a 3 year warranty. The new Aura Pro X has a 5 year warranty.

The answer is you can return the memory for a full refund. We chose 14 days because we thought that was a reasonable time frame. We have never refused a refund that has been a reasonable time past 14 days, such as 21 days or 30 days. If you are not happy with the RAM upgrade, we don't want to make your day worse by saying no to a refund. In fact, everything we list we stock, so if you dont want it, we restock it. This is a point in difference to most Kingston resellers. They don't stock the product, they are selling from someone else's warehouse. Which is why they don't like refunds.

Dell Precision 3640 update

This machine was complaining of too many ECC errors and referring us back to Dell service for replacement during POST. It appears the error count is persistent and cumulative over the life of the machine. The memory itself passed full diagnostic memory tests flawlessly repeatedly. We could clear the BIOS logs, but the historical errors would reappear and quickly lead to POST failure again, requiring manual intervention during boot. This was rather annoying, and we decided not to replace with ECC modules. Instead we purchased non-ECC DDR4's from UA. The purchase was straight forward online, and we were able to pick up from the Pymble office soon after. The modules look good, fitted well and are working well. Overall, a good result for us.
