How do I find out what speed my DDR memory is? The easiest way is to download a simple software program that scans your system hardware. We recommend CPU-Z. Find out more here or you can find the download here Once the scan is complete, there should be noted in slot what memory is installed. One of the numbers should correspond to the descriptions above. Not sure? Call our staff on 02 9439. Is your DDR memory backward compatible to slower speeds? Will your 400Mhz work with my 266Mhz memory? It is dependent on the computer system not on the type of memory. Most computers will slow a module and run it at the correct speed. However it is not a 100% guarantee. We ship hundreds of modules every day, we need to ship the right speed to guarantee compatibility. Please match your speed memory. Will faster DDR memory run faster in my computer? This is a common misconception. A faster module will not run faster. It will run as fast as the slowest memory installed. So if you have 266Mhz installed, a 400Mhz memory will only run the speed of a 266Mhz memory RAM. However, extra memory will make the computer run faster! Do you need help?
