| - The Server Boards Altos G520 each provides four 266MHz / 333MHz DIMM sites in two DIMM banks. The maximum memory capacity is 8GB for either 266MHz or 333MHz memory. Memory DIMM technologies supported are: 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1 GB and 2 GB.
- The minimum memory configuration is one DIMM, installed in DIMM socket 1B (the socket farthest from the processors). However, for optimum performance and dual-channel interleave operation, a minimum of two DIMMs should be installed. DIMMs on channel A are paired with DIMMs on channel B to configure 2-way interleaving. Both DIMMS in Bank 1 (DIMM1B and DIMM1A) must be populated before any DIMMs are installed in Bank 2 (DIMM2B and DIMM2A). Bank 2 must be populated in pairs. Both DIMMs in a bank must be identical (same manufacturer, CAS latency, number of rows, columns and devices, timing parameters etc.). Although DIMMs within a bank must be identical, the BIOS supports various DIMM sizes and configurations allowing the banks of memory to be different.
- The mixing of 266MHz and 333MHz memory is supported on the Server Boards Altos G520. However, when mixing DIMM types, 333MHz will be treated as 266MHz.

The operating system (or OS) your computer has installed also has a maximum RAM limit. The most common OS, Microsoft Windows generally ships as a 32-bit version. The downfall of a 32-bit OS is when more than 4GB of RAM is installed; the OS will read between 3.0GB to 3.6GB depending on the hardware installed in your computer. Installing memory in your computer is classified by most manufacturers as a Do It Yourself (DIY) upgrade. The Upgradeable Memory Installation Guide is included with every order which is to be used with your computers owner's manual. A PDF copy of the guide is available for download here. We provide tech support over the phone in case you require any further assistance performing the memory upgrade procedure. A majority of computers sold do not require pairs to be installed. Where computers have Dual or Triple channel technology, installing memory in pairs will see a slight improvement in performance. With some computers, pairs can be a requirement, check your system configuration details table for more information. We accept payment by either credit card (AMEX, MasterCard, VISA) or Bank Deposit.
